Man Found Dead On Side Of CT Roadway Police in Connecticut are investigating after a man was found shot to death lying on the side of a roadway. The incident took place around 9:20 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 26 on Burnside Avenue in East Hartford. Officer Marc Caruso of the East Hartford Police said paramedics and firefighters responded to the area and found the man lying on Burnside Avenue dead from an apparent gunshot wound. Suspects On Run After Hudson Valley CVS 'Strong Arm' Robbery Four suspects are on the run after allegedly pulling off a Christmas Day "strong arm" robbery at a Hudson Valley CVS store. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 11:15 a.m., Monday, Dec. 25, at the CVS located at 2503 South Road (Route 9) in the town of Poughkeepsie. According to Lt. Craig O’Connor of the town of Poughkeepsie Police, two men placed $294.28 worth of beer and laundry detergent in a shopping car and began to leave the store with the cart without paying for the merchandise. 21-Year-Old CT Woman Dies In Crash After Crossing Double-Yellow Line, Police Say A 21-year-old Connecticut woman was killed in a two-car crash after allegedly crossing the double-yellow line and hitting another vehicle. Hartford County resident Jessica Gray, of Bristol, was killed around 4:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 22 in the area of Wolcott Road, north of Old Wolcott Road. According to Lt. Patrick Krajewski, of the Bristol Police, Gray was traveling southbound on Wolcott Road when she crossed the double center line and was struck by a vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Woman Visiting Hudson Valley With Husband Dies After 70-Foot Fall A 39-year-old woman visiting the area died after falling 70 feet off a cliff at a state park in the region. The incident occurred in Ulster County around 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 22, at Minnewaska State Park in the town of Rochester. New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel said Nur Aisyah Binte MD Akbar, age 39, and her husband Abdul Rauf Bin Mohd Said, age 41, both of Singapore, were hiking on Beacon Hill Trail when they stopped to take photos at the edge of the cliff. Fairfield Man Nabbed With Child Porn In Stratford, Police Say A man was charged with alleged possession of child pornography following a months-long investigation in Connecticut. Matthew Wood, age 50, of Fairfield, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 22, by Stratford Police. In October, Stratford detectives, using software to target suspects obtaining child sexual abuse material, initiated an investigation into Wood, said Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti. Man Asleep At Green Light In Darien Charged With DUI, Police Say A Fairfield County man was busted for allegedly driving under the influence after police allegedly found him asleep in the driver's seat at a green light. Herman Cole III, age 31, of Shelton, was charged on Saturday, Dec. 16 at the intersection of Hoyt Street and Camp Avenue in Darien. Sgt. Dan Skoumbros of the Darien Police said an officer spotted Cole's car sitting at a green light for multiple cycles. Man Nabbed Driving Mercedes 120 MPH On I-95 In CT, Police Say A 26-year-old man was charged with alleged reckless driving after he was clocked going 120 mph in a Mercedes -Benz on I-95 in Connecticut. New York resident Zhicheng Wu, of Flushing, Queens, was stopped in Middlesex County around 1 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20 in the area of Westbrook. Connecticut State Troopers spotted Wu passing traffic at a high rate and clocked him at speeds of 120 mph in a 65 mph zone, the department said. Suspect In Stamford Near-Fatal Bus Stabbing Nabbed A suspect has been charged in the alleged near-fatal stabbing of a man at a Fairfield County bus stop. Olajuwon Raheem Clarke, age 29, homeless, was taken into custody in Brooklyn for the Monday, Nov. 20 stabbing of a Stamford man on a CT Transit bus, said Capt. Tom Scanlon of the Stamford Police. Witnesses reported that the CT Transit bus stopped at the bus stop and a man got on the bus and engaged the victim in an argument.
