Anthony 'Tony' Portanova, 82, Cofounder Of C&P Excavating Contractors STAMFORD, Conn. -- Anthony "Tony" Portanova of Stamford died on Sunday, Jan. 4. He was 82. He was born in Stamford on Jan. 13, 1932, to Ralph and Vincenza Tangi Portanova. He served in the Navy from 1951 to 1955. Upon returning to Stamford, he formed C&P Excavating Contractors with partner Frank Cavaliere, which continued until 1988. In 1988, he established Portanova Excavating with his sons, Michael and David. He was held in high regard by all who knew him. Bronxville's 2015 Refuse/Recycling Schedule Has Changed BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Changes have been made to the 2015 refuse/recycling schedule for Bronxville. Village residents will be receiving the 2015 refuse/recycling schedule this week.  Effective Jan. 12, there will be a change in garbage collection days. The current Monday/Thursday will now be collected on Tuesday/Friday. The current Tuesday/Friday will be collected Monday/Thursday. Bulk waste collections will also follow the new schedule. Recycling will remain the same on Wednesday.
