Westchester Leaders, Advocates Rally For Stronger Equal Pay Laws WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Leaders in Westchester County are teaming up on Tuesday -- National Equal Pay Day -- for a rally at noon in front of White Plains City Hall to protest wage inequality in New York. The date April 14 signifies how far into 2015 women have to work to earn the same level of income that men earned in 2014. In other words, the average woman would need to work 15 months in order to make one year of the average man’s pay. Angelina J. 'Angie' Shaw, 93, Lifelong Sleepy Hollow Resident SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Angelina J. "Angie" Shaw, a lifelong Sleepy Hollow resident, died at home Saturday, April 11, at the age of 93. Born in North Tarrytown on Feb. 27, 1922, she was the daughter of Orazio and Carmela Lofaro Celtruda. A member of the National Honor Society, Shaw graduated from North Tarrytown High School in 1940. She was married to Alfred E. Shaw. During World War II, Shaw was a volunteer nurse's aide at North Tarrytown Hospital. She also worked at Eastern Aircraft and after the war continued on at General Motors for 32 years. She volunteered at the Phelps Memorial Hosp…

NY Air National Guard Member Killed In Afghanistan Honored For Heroism PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- New York Air National Guard Staff Sgt. Todd "T.J." Lobraico Jr., 22, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in September 2013, was honored with the posthumous award of the Bronze Star Medal with Valor during a ceremony at Stewart Air National Guard Base on Saturday, April 11.
