Westchester Leaders, Advocates Rally For Stronger Equal Pay Laws WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Leaders in Westchester County are teaming up on Tuesday -- National Equal Pay Day -- for a rally at noon in front of White Plains City Hall to protest wage inequality in New York. The date April 14 signifies how far into 2015 women have to work to earn the same level of income that men earned in 2014. In other words, the average woman would need to work 15 months in order to make one year of the average man’s pay. A member of the National Honor Society, Shaw graduated from North Tarrytown High School in 1940. She was married to Alfred E. Shaw.
