Seen Him? Serial Long Island Burglar Wanted By Police Police are asking for the community’s assistance in locating a man who they say has burglarized multiple Long Island businesses. Nassau County Police made the announcement on Thursday, Dec. 7, providing pictures of the man who is accused of multiple break-ins at businesses across the county. While neither his name nor a list of businesses he’s victimized was made public, police said the break-ins have been occurring since August 2023. Dog Daycare Employee Caught Smashing, Swinging Pups While At Long Island Job: Police A Long Island man working at a doggy daycare was arrested after police said he abused the pups by smashing their faces into fences and more. Andrew Laurendi, age 21 of Massapequa, was taken into custody on Sunday, Dec. 10 shortly after being fired from his job at Pawllywood, a dog boarding, daycare, and grooming facility located at 30 East Chestnut Street for the alleged abuse. Drunk Woman Bites Officer During Long Island Convenience Store Skirmish, Police Say An allegedly intoxicated woman who was behaving erratically at a Long Island convenience store was arrested for not complying with police, officials said. The incident occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 5 in Valley Stream, according to Nassau County Police. At approximately 10:15 p.m., a 35-year-old woman who appeared intoxicated reportedly began causing a scene at 24/7 Mart, located at 52 West Sunrise Highway. Autism Support Group, Long Island Town Install Play Communication Boards At Parks Together, a Long Island autism support group and local town leaders made a step in helping ensure children with autism feel welcomed in the community. Burglars Smash Windows, Grab Cash From Long Island Deli Police are on the lookout for one or more thieves who smashed their way into a small business on Long Island and stole cash. It occurred on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 2 in Uniondale, according to Nassau County Police Department. Arrest Scam Steals $26K From Long Island Resident Police are looking for the person who pulled off an arrest scheme to scam one Long Island resident out of over $25,000. On Thursday, Dec. 7 in Oceanside, a 74-year-old woman received a phone call. According to Nassau County Police, the caller was an unknown man who told the woman that her son had been arrested. Seen Him? Man, Dog Steal Packages From Porch On Long Island, Police Say Police are searching for a man who was caught on camera taking packages from a Long Island porch. The incident happened on Tuesday, Nov. 21 in West Hempstead, according to Nassau County Police. Just before 12:30 p.m. that day, a man was captured on a Nest doorbell camera walking with his dog along Maple Street when he spotted a pair of packages sitting on a porch. Trio Smuggles Merch From Marshalls, Kohl's On Long Island Police arrested three people who allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Long Island stores. On Thursday, Dec. 7, the trio were caught in the parking lot of the Oceanside Marshalls, located at 3544 Long Beach Road. Offshore Wind Farm Begins 'Powering Up,' Provides Clean Energy To Long Island Homes The first wind turbine in New York’s first offshore wind farm has begun delivering power to Long Island, marking a major milestone in the state’s plans for renewable energy.
