Dump Truck Overturns On Route 287
An overturned dump truck shut a portion of Route 287 in Morris County Thursday, Jan. 4, the state's DOT site shows. The Peterbilt dump truck was heading north when the driver lost control, ran off the roadway to the right, reentered the lane of travel and then overturned around 10:45 a.m. near milepost 40.8 in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. No injuries were reported. Two of the five lanes were closed as of 11 a.m. This is a developing story. Check back for more.

: Jeep Hits Tow Truck Responding To 3-Car Collision On I-66
A Jeep driver who struck a tow truck responding to a three-car crash on I-66 caused a second three car crash and died in Fairfax County, authorities said. The tow truck was responding to a crash at mile marker 51 in the westbound lanes just after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, when it was struck by the Jeep, Virginia State Police said. Masked thieves plowed a stolen car through the front of a Loudoun County gun store before swiping long guns overnight, authorities said. Officers responding to reports of sounds of a crash found the stolen 4-door Kia sedan lodged in the front of Loudoun Guns on Industrial Court in Leesburg around 4 a.m., local police said. Authorities in Chester County are investigating a murder-suicide on Tuesday, Jan. 2, they said. West Goshen police responded to a home on the 400 block of Hightop Road for a welfare check on 41-year-old Derek Calzadillas, who relatives said hadn't heard from him in 24 hours, Chester County District Attorney Christopher De Barrena-Sarobe said.
