Albany police responded to an apartment complex near Park Avenue and Quail Street at around noon on Sunday, Sept. 18, after getting reports of a man inside with a gun. When officers arrived, they found several people inside the apartment and witnessed one person throw a loaded handgun out of a window, police said. State police in Orange County first spotted the suspects’ vehicle at around 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, as it drove on Highway 84 in the town of Newburgh. Troopers observed the 2015 BMW-328i violating numerous vehicle and traffic laws. The car also had fraudulent Georgia temporary plates, according to police. Sullivan County resident Hummler Colas, of the town of Thompson, was arrested following a joint investigation by New York State Police and Sullivan County Child Protective Services. The New York State Index of Consumer Sentiment was up 9.1 points to 70.8 in the third quarter of 2022, the poll found. That’s 12.6 points above the nation’s Index of 58.2. Hudson Valley Woman Charged After Fraud Investigation A Hudson Valley woman is facing fraud charges following an investigation by New York State Police. Rockland County resident Shawn Pezzementi, age 48, of Haverstraw, was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 13, on one count of offering a false instrument for filing, a felony. Investigators said Pezzementi submitted a fraudulent document to the Rockland County Office of Consumer Protection in November 2021.
