Marcus Bailey, 31, had allegedly taken merchandise from a store on S. Hayes Street around 1:40 p.m. Saturday, March 9, bringing police to the scene.  A responding officer found him near 15th Street S. and S. Fern Street and attempted to detain him. Bailey resisted arrest, pushed the officer away and tried to strike the officer, police said. DUI Driver Rescued From Overturned Car Insisted There Was No Accident: Stafford Sheriff A driver was rescued from her vehicle after a crash, but she insisted no crash had happened at all, authorities in Stafford said. The unnamed driver was pulled out of her vehicle by a 9-1-1 caller on Morton Road on March 8 around 4:50 p.m., according to the county sheriff's office. The vehicle had veered off the road, struck an embankment, and turned on its side. Stabbing Suspect Charged For Early Morning Assault In Virginia: Police Police in Leesburg have made an arrest in an early-morning stabbing. Shawn Lewis, 56 of Leesburg, is believed to have stabbed a person during a fight early Monday, March 11 on the 700 block of Clark Court NE, police said. The victim suffered a minor stab wound to the upper body. Officers responded to the location of the stabbing and took Shawn Lewis into custody. The man then refused to leave his home, prompting a standoff with police until 9:50 p.m., when he was taken into custody, police said. The victim had previously been safely removed.
