NY Man Causes Back-To-Back Hit-Runs In PA, Police Say A 21-year-old New York man caused two hit-and-runs in Pennsylvania, police announced on May 10, 2023.  Franknness A. Martinez Tavarez of Corona first crashed into a vehicle in the 400 block of Long Lane in Pequea Township around 11 a.m. on May 9— causing injuries, according to area police.  While at the scene, the police find another vehicle had been side-swiped, and that driver was unharmed, the police explained.  The officer found a head-on collision just 1000 feet down the same road. Fire Truck, Street Sweeper Collide In Central PA, Police Say A street sweeper and a fire truck collided in Central Pennsylvania on Friday, May 12, 2023.  The crash happened in the 1700 block of Highland Street at 9:50 a.m., according to police The crash involved a Swatara Township Fire-Rescue fire truck and a Swatara Township street sweeper, the police explained. "There were no injuries resulting from this accident," police said.  The accident is being investigated by the township police.

Lower Dauphin High School in Hummelstown with be dismissed early after "flying ants" apparently swarmed the school's cafeteria, according to a Facebook post by school officials around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023.  The post reads in part: "ALERT - Lower Dauphin High School will DISMISS today at 10:30 am on Friday, May 12, due to flying ants in the high school cafeteria which will prevent us from having lunch."
