Armed Man Kidnaps Family At Danbury Stop & Shop, Steals Money, Police Say Police in Fairfield County are searching for an armed man who allegedly kidnapped a family in the parking lot of a Stop & Shop and allegedly made them drive to a bank and withdraw money. The incident took place in Danbury around 5:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 10 at the Stop & Shop on Newtown Road. According to Erin Henry, a spokesperson for the Danbury Police, a family told officers that a man approached their vehicle with a handgun in the parking lot and ordered them to unlock the car. Dozens Sickened After Dining At Long Island Restaurant A popular Long Island restaurant has reopened after 28 people received food poisoning after eating alleged bad rice. The incident took place in Stony Brook on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Kumo Sushi & Steakhouse. The Suffolk County Police Department and 13 local fire departments responded to the restaurant to help the ailing patrons, officials said. At least 28 individuals reported symptoms, and 12 people were treated at Stony Brook University Hospital, the department said. Witnesses reported seeing people vomiting at the restaurant. Hudson Valley Bank Robbery Suspect On Run With Cash, Police Say Police in the Hudson Valley are searching for an alleged bank robber who made off with an undetermined amount of cash. The robbery took place in Orange County in the town of Newburgh around 12:15 p.m., Saturday, Sept. at Walden Savings Bank at 5329 Route 9W. According to Lt. Peter Talarico of the Newburgh Police, officers were dispatched to the bank after receiving an alert of a robbery. Man Found Sleeping In Car With Pound Of Pot In Trumbull, Police Say A man was found sleeping in his vehicle along with more than a pound of marijuana in Fairfield County, police said. The incident took place in Trumbull around 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2 on Woodridge Circle. 2 People Injured During Hudson Valley Crash, Police Say Two people were injured during a two-car crash in the Hudson Valley. The collision took place in Ulster County in Kingston around 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 5 on Route 28. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, an investigation revealed that a 2012 Toyota, driven by Steven Beckerman of Woodstock, was traveling west in the right lane. Sleeping Driver In Darien Charged With DUI, Police Say A 30-year-old man who was allegedly found sleeping behind the wheel of his car in Fairfield County has been charged with driving under the influence. Westchester County resident Alexander Ramos-Sanchez, of Harrison, was arrested in Darien on Saturday, Sept. 2. According to Sgt.
