Two Men Confront Woman In Driveway Of Her Smithtown Home, Steal Money, Checks, Police Say
Police are investigating an incident during which a Long Island woman was allegedly confronted outside her home by two men who stole money and checks.
The incident took place in Smithtown around 9:40 a.m., Tuesday, July 26, as the woman stood in her driveway on Grandview Lane.
While standing in the driveway, two men, both wearing ski masks, approached the woman and displayed a gun, said the Suffolk County Police.
While speaking to the woman in Spanish, they motioned for her to go into the home, said police.

20-Year-Old Woman Charged For Hit-Run Stamford Crash
A 20-year-old Fairfield County resident has been charged in connection with the April hit-and-run death of an area man.
Jaliyah Perez, of Stamford, was arrested on Monday, July 25 for allegedly hitting and killing a city man and then leaving the scene of the crash, said Sgt. Jeffrey Booth, of the Stamford Police.
The crash took place on Wednesday, April 13 on Tresser Boulevard around 8 p.m. when Ronald Molina, age 52, of Stamford, was walking northbound when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling westbound on Tresser Blvd., Booth said.

Man Nabbed For Wilton Liquor Store Theft, Police Say
A man from Westchester County has surrendered to police for allegedly stealing more than a $1,000 in liquor with a woman from a Fairfield County store.
The theft took place in Wilton in June at Caraluzzi Wine & Spirits.
Westchester County resident Hugo Matos, age 48, of Yonkers, turned himself in to Wilton Police on an arrest warrant for the charges on Wednesday, July 20, said the Wilton Police.

Alert Issued For Missing Hempstead Girl
Police are asking the public for help locating a Long Island teen who has been missing for more than a week.
Brianna Williamson, age 15, of Hempstead, was last seen on Tuesday, July 19, but wasn't reported missing until Monday, July 25.
According to detectives, Williamson was last seen in the vicinity of Elk Street, said the Nassau County Police.
Williamson is described as being 5-foot-9, 130 pounds with black hair and black eyes, police said.
Her clothing description is unknown.
