She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

3 Injured In Valhalla 3-Vehicle Crash Involving Bus Three people were injured during a three-vehicle crash involving a city bus in Westchester County. The accident occurred on Wednesday, Aug. 17, in Valhalla on Grasslands Road and the ramp from the Sprain Brook Parkway. Units arrived on the scene of the accident which also involved a bus and crews immediately assisted with patient care and packaging as well as taking care of a fluid spill, said Capt. Matt DiPrinzio of the Valhalla Fire Department Those injured were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, DiPrinzio added.

Hudson Valley Man Who Lied About Being State Trooper Admits To Hate Crime, DA Says A Hudson Valley man who lied about being an off-duty state trooper has pleaded guilty to committing a hate crime and criminal possession of a weapon. Orange County resident William Ryan, age 61, of Newburgh, pleaded guilty to the incident which took place in June, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler. On Saturday, June 11, an off-duty Town of Wallkill Police lieutenant was driving with his son in the City of Newburgh when Ryan engaged in a verbal dispute with the officer before calling him a racial epithet and driving off, said the DA's Office. 57-Year-Old Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash On CT Roadway A 57-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on a Connecticut roadway. The crash took place in Hartford County around 11:45 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20 in Bristol on Redstone Hill Road. Officers responded to the area for a reported motorcycle crash, said Lt. Patrick Krajewski, of the Bristol Police. Upon arrival, officers located the man in the roadway, who was later pronounced dead, Krajewski said. Police have not released the name of the victim. Fire Breaks Out At Popular CT Pizzeria A popular Connecticut pizza restaurant and lounge was heavily damaged during a fire. It happened in Windham County at the Midway Restaurant in Ashford around 11:45 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20. First-arriving firefighters found flames at the back of the building and through the roof of the lounge area, said Ashford Fire Chief Paul Varga. Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the blaze under control at 1:45 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 21, Varga said. CT High School Student Killed In Crash A 15-year-old Connecticut high school student who was a police cadet was struck and killed while riding his bike. The crash happened around 3 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 20 in Hartford County, in the parking lot of a Mobile gas station in Berlin, at 2005 Berlin Turnpike. Police responded to the gas station for a report of a car striking a bicycle, said Berlin Chief of Police Matthew McNally. Boy Seriously Injured In Crash Causing Hours-Long Closure Of Long Island Expressway In Suffolk A man who was allegedly driving drunk was arrested following a crash that seriously injured a 9-year-old boy and caused an hours-long closure of a stretch of the Long Island Expressway. It took place in Suffolk County around 1:50 a.m., Monday, Aug. 22 in Farmingville. According to Suffolk County Police, Travis Dickson, age 27, of Farmingville, was driving a 2018 BMW westbound on the LIE when his vehicle rear-ended a 2019 Toyota Corolla. 22-Year-Old Killed In Fiery Greenburgh Crash One person was killed during a fiery single-vehicle crash in Westchester County. It took place in the town of Greenburgh around 12:30 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 21 on the Sprain Brook Parkway. Troopers were dispatched to the area of mile marker 7.6 southbound on the Sprain Brook Parkway for a vehicle off the roadway engulfed in flames, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. Outage Knocks Out Power To Thousands In Nassau County The workweek started in the dark for around 3,000 Long Islanders due to a power outage in Nassau County. The outage happened in East Massapequa around 7:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 22, causing outages and some traffic difficulties with down traffic signals. According to PSEG officials, the majority of customers have had power restored with the rest expected by around 9:30 a.m. Monday. As of 8:55 a.m. PSEG was reporting some 660 customers still without power. The company is investigating what caused the outage, said Elizabeth Flagler, PSEG spokeswoman.
