4 Injured, 1 Seriously After Long Island Intoxicated Driving Crash Into Tree Four people were injured, including one seriously when their van hit a tree during an alleged intoxicated driving crash on Long Island. It took place in Riverhead around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 469 East Main St. According to Riverhead Police, responding officers located a 2007 Honda van that collided with a tree. There were five occupants inside the van, with one person seriously injured who was airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital by the Suffolk County medivac helicopter, police said. Person Stabbed In Lobby Of Resorts World Catskills Casino A person was stabbed in the lobby of the Resorts World Catskills Casino. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, at the casino located in the town of Thompson. The suspect then fled the area and the victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said Trooper Steven Nevel. The investigation is ongoing. This is a developing story. Police ID 62-Year-Old Killed In Head-On Hudson Valley Crash State police have released the identity of a man killed during a head-on, three-car Hudson Valley crash, that also injured five. Sullivan County resident IkSong Jin, age 62, from Monticello died after the crash that took place in Orange County on Monday, Aug. 15 in Woodbury. 2 Stabbed On CT Metro-North Train Two men were stabbed on a Connecticut Metro-North train. The incident took place in New Haven County around 4 p.m., Monday, Aug. 22, in Naugatuck. According to the Naugatuck Police, officers were dispatched to the Naugatuck Train Station to investigate a stabbing that had occurred on an MTA train en route from the Waterbury Station. Man Nabbed After Assaulting, Robbing LI Teen Of Cell Phone, Police Say A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting and robbing a 16-year-old Long Island boy of his cellphone. The incident took place in Suffolk County around 9:15 p.m., Monday, Aug. 22 in Riverhead. CT Dad Hit With Additional Horrific Child Abuse Charges, Police Say A Connecticut man who was charged with alleged child abuse has been hit with additional charges after new horrific abuse came to light. New Haven County resident Kevin Grant, age 33, of Naugatuck, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 10, after new charges surfaced in connection with his Oct. 2020 arrest for subjecting his children to brutal physical punishments. 20-Year-Old Charged With Rape Threaten Victim With Machete In Region, Police Say A 20-year-old man has been charged with rape after allegedly physically and sexually assaulting a victim in the region while threatening that person with a machete. Sullivan County resident Joseph Callas, age 20, of Bloomingburg, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 22 in the town of Mamakating. Stratford Home Heavily Damaged During Fire A Fairfield County home was heavily damaged during an attic fire over the weekend. The fire happened in Stratford around 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 21 at 9 Alvord St. On arrival, Stratford firefighters reported heavy fire on the west side exterior and in the attic of the home, said Stratford Assistant Fire Chief Robert Daniel. Charges Pending After CT Victim Dies Following 2-Vehicle Stratford Crash Charges are pending for a Fairfield County man after a man died following a two-vehicle crash.
