Dog Rescued After House Fire Breaks Out In Norwalk A dog was rescued and rushed to a veterinarian clinic after being rescued from a Fairfield County apartment fire. The fire took place in Norwalk around 7:50 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9, on France Street. The fire was located in a two-apartment unit at the rear of the property, said Edward McCabe, assistant chief operations for the Norwalk Fire Department. Long Island Ride-Share Driver Accused Of Sexually Abusing 2 Women A Long Island ride-share driver has been arrested for allegedly raping and sexually abusing two women. Suffolk County Police said a man from the hamlet of East Norwich in the town of Oyster Bay was apprehended around 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, after he raped and sexually abused female passengers while working as a ride-share driver in Lindenhurst and Copiague. Police Investigate After Rug Pulled From CT River Connecticut State Police say a rug pulled from a river by a social media influencer/paranormal investigator has found no evidence it was related to a crime. Driver Of GMC Sierra With 'Distinct' Features Wanted After Hit-Run CT Crash, Police Say Police are asking the public for help locating a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run crash in Connecticut. The crash took place in Hartford County around 9:50 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 10 in Bristol on Jerome Avenue. According to police, the vehicle, described as being a 2007-2013 GMC Sierra 1500 color black or dark blue, was originally traveling south on Jerome Avenue and fled west on Farmington Avenue towards Price Chopper. 25-Year-Old Killed In Single-Vehicle Hudson Valley Crash Police are searching for witnesses after a man was killed in a single-vehicle Hudson Valley crash. The crash took place in Orange County around 6:45 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 11 on Colonial Avenue in the village of Warwick. "It's believed the accident had occurred several hours earlier," said Chief John Rader, of the Warwick Police. A 25-year-old Monroe man was the victim of the motorcycle crash, Rader said. Police Searching For Suspects In Long Island Home Burglary Police are searching for suspects who broke into a Long Island home, ransacked the home, and stole items. The incident took place in Woodbury around 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10. Norwalk Police Officer Attacked, Beaten At Annual Festival A Fairfield County police officer suffered a broken arm and head injury after being attacked by two men at an annual community festival. The incident occurred in Norwalk around 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Oyster Festival. According to Lt. Man Accused Of Stealing Blank Checks From Mailbox In Westport, Then Depositing $24K Police have accused a man for allegedly stealing a box of blank checks in Fairfield County and writing a check to himself for more than $24,000. The incident took place in Westport on Tuesday, Jan. 11, when police officers responded to a home on Northgate Lane regarding stolen mail.
