She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

1 Killed In Shooting Near CT State Capitol An 18-year-old Connecticut man was gunned down and killed on a city street during broad daylight and another was injured. The incident took place in Hartford around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20 in the area of 640 Broad St. According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert, Hartford Police officers were dispatched to the area of 640 Broad Street on a ShotSpotter activation. Upon arrival, evidence of gunfire was located. Uninsured Motorist Nabbed After Fleeing Scene Of Crash In Darien, Police Say A Fairfield County man was nabbed after fleeing the scene of a crash in which he struck a pedestrian in the arm. The incident took place in Darien on Friday, Sept. 16, on West Avenue. When Darien police responded to the scene of the crash they found a pedestrian who reported that a vehicle had struck his arm while walking on the sideway and fled the scene while driving erratically, said Sgt. Running Truck Found Chained To ATM In Hudson Valley, Police Say Police found a running pickup truck with a chain attached to an ATM machine at Hudson Valley bank, but not the suspect or the missing cash. The incident took place in Orange County around 5 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20 at the Chase Bank at 12 Lloyds Lane, the town of Wallkill. Woman Struck By Car On Sidewalk In Hudson Valley A woman was hit by a car while walking on a sidewalk in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 3:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19 in the area of 386 Main St., in the city of Poughkeepsie. According to Det. Lt. Woman Accused Of Embezzling Nearly $200K From Company In Darien A 39-year-old woman was nabbed for allegedly embezzling nearly $200,000 from a Fairfield County company. Daria Opolski, of Norwalk, was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 15 in Darien after turning herself in to police on an active warrant. Snapchat Threat Leads To Extra Police At Long Island High School Extra police officers are on site at a Long Island school after it received threats of violence via Snapchat. Suffolk County Police were notified of the threat directed at Walt Whitham High School in Huntington Station by South Huntington Schools Superintendent Vito D’Elia on Monday, Sept. 19. Man Arraigned For Allegedly Fatally Shooting Girlfriend In Penthouse Apartment In Mineola A Long Island man has been indicted for allegedly shooting his girlfriend to death in her apartment complex. Mark Small, age 55, of Elmont, was arraigned on Tuesday, Sept. 20, on charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon for the shooting death which took place in Mineola on Saturday, July 30, said Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly. Home Depot Employee Trapped Under Forklift Seriously Injured In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley Home Depot employee was seriously injured after being trapped under a forklift. The incident took place in Orange County around 1 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20, in Monroe.
