Pleasantville Schools Find Inspiration In 'Man In Red Bandana' Pleasantville Schools Find Inspiration In 'Man In Red Bandana'
Pleasantville Schools Find Inspiration In 'Man In Red Bandana' Pleasantville Union Free School District students have become inspired by the story of the man in the red bandana. Green bandanas have been popping up all over Pleasantville after they heard the story of Welles Crowther, a Suffern resident, who died on Sept. 11, escorting people to safety.  His story became famous when people talked about a man with a red bandana who escorted them to safety despite the chaos around them. Crowther always carried a red bandana in his back pocket; his father Jefferson usually had a blue one. His remains were later discovered at Ground Zero in March 2002. Plea…

Yonkers Costume Shop Dresses The Stars For Halloween Yonkers Costume Shop Dresses The Stars For Halloween
Yonkers Costume Shop Dresses The Stars For Halloween  It's the busiest time of the year for Yon Zweibon. Zweibon is the owner of Beyond Costumes at 530 Nepperhan Avenue Yonkers, believed to be one of the oldest costume shops in Westchester. Zweibon has been helping people have memorable Halloweens since she bought the store on a whim 19 years ago. The 20,000-square-foot store dresses people from all over the tri-state area and its costumes have appeared on many TV shows and stage projections. Last year, Madonna got her Halloween costumes at the store -- she went as a clown, while her children went as an astronaut, Donald Trump, and a werewolf…

Letter To The Editor: Outhouse Is Wrong On Immigration Daily Voice accepts signed and original letters to the editor up to 350 words. To send a letter, e-mail ossining@dailyvoice.com. To the editor: No, Bob, you can’t reword your own website after it was accurately quoted and then claim your position was misquoted. In fact, the original website wording was exactly as Molly Greece described it and seems to accurately represent your views. As you are a member in good standing and supporter of a Party that rejected any bipartisan effort to draft sensible Immigration reform and create a pathway to citizenship for illegals …..and, as an advocate fo…

Letter To The Editor: Vote For Robert Langley Daily Voice accepts signed and original letters to the editor up to 350 words. To send a letter, e-mail putnam@dailyvoice.com. Anyone jaded, disillusioned, or just disappointed by the state of national affairs must remember this: We have the power to insist on change here in our own backyard. Putnam County deserves a Sheriff who puts the safety of our communities above petty politics, and whose only focus is on public service. On November 7th, please join me in voting for Robert Langley. Letter To The Editor: Vote Robert Langley Daily Voice accepts signed and original letters to the editor up to 350 words. To send a letter, e-mail putnam@dailyvoice.com. I will be voting for Bob Langley for Sheriff because he has a better idea for managing the opioid crisis. By fighting addiction earlier, he plans to break the cycle of crime. The existing felony drug court in Putnam County has done good work in providing treatment programs for addicts. However, treatment options are only available in felony prosecutions. Often this involves people with advanced, hardened addictions. People being picked up for first offenses don't hav…
