Carolyn Marie 'Lynn' Adams, former Westchester County Employee, 87 MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Carolyn Marie Adams, who lived in Mamaroneck for more than 45 years and who was a former employee of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety, died Saturday, Aug. 15, in Dallas, Texas. She was 87. Adams was born to John Edward and Mary Catherine (Conneely) Dixey and grew up in Brighton, Mass., with her five siblings Ned, George, Bobby, Joan and June. Known as “Lynn,” Adams as a young woman worked at Central Foundry in New York City for financier Sydney Gondelman. She married Jack Adams in 1961 and moved to Akron, Ohio. Greenburgh Reduces Speed Limit On Dangerous Street GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Greenburgh officials are taking steps to make a dangerous street safer for pedestrians and drivers alike, according to News 12. The Town Board recently voted to lower the speed limit on East Hartsdale Avenue to 25 mph from 30 mph, News 12 reported. A woman was killed on the street while walking her dog in 2008, and another woman was critically injured doing the same thing in 2014, according to the News 12 report.
