Carolyn Marie 'Lynn' Adams, former Westchester County Employee, 87
MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Carolyn Marie Adams, who lived in Mamaroneck for more than 45 years and who was a former employee of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety, died Saturday, Aug. 15, in Dallas, Texas. She was 87.
Adams was born to John Edward and Mary Catherine (Conneely) Dixey and grew up in Brighton, Mass., with her five siblings Ned, George, Bobby, Joan and June.
Known as “Lynn,” Adams as a young woman worked at Central Foundry in New York City for financier Sydney Gondelman.

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Estelle Marie O’Rourke of Millwood, the owner of the Millwood Shell Station, died Saturday, Aug. 22. She was 78.
She was born in Ossining to Angelo and Viola (Faiella) Polcari.
She was predeceased by her husband, Neil.
She is survived by her son, Michael, and daughter-in-law Janet; her daughter, Michelle Haubold, and son-in-law Doug; grandchildren, Max, Paul, T.C., Valerie, and Sam; a brother, Michael Polcari; and a sister, Donna Manzares.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, at the Leach & Thomas Funeral Home, 32 State St. Ossining.

Police Seek Help Finding Easton Couple As Landfill Search Comes Up Empty
EASTON, Conn. -- No human remains were found in a landfill in eastern Connecticut during a search for a missing Easton couple, State Police said as they made a call for the public's help in the case.
Jeffery Navin, 56, president of J&J Refuse in Westport, and his wife, Jeanette, 55, a library paraprofessional at Weston Intermediate School, have been missing since Aug. 4, according to police.
The search was done at the Putnam Ash Residue Landfill, operated by Wheelabrator Technologies, which collects ash from all of the state’s waste-to-energy facilities.
