Manager Of Poughkeepsie Complex Faces Embezzlement Charges POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The property manager of a Section 8 apartment complex in Poughkeepsie has been charged with embezzling government funds, according to Preet Bharara, the United States attorney for the Southern District of New York. Stamford Hospital Launches Branding Campaign STAMFORD, CONN. -- Stamford Hospital has launched a campaign to tell the public about the “depth and breadth” of services that it offers, hospital officials said. Valhalla High School Literary Magazine Wins High Award VALHALLA, N.Y. -- VOX, a literary magazine published by students at Valhalla High School, is used to racking up awards, but its most recent is, says one staff member -- “gold.” The zine, which comes out once a year, in June, was recently recognized by the National Council of Teachers of English. Stamford Man Accused Of Assaulting Girlfriend STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford man is facing multiple charges after police said he choked his girlfriend during an argument, according to a report in the Stamford Advocate. Anthony Nowlin, 21, was accused by the unidentified 21-year-old woman with roughing her up after she tossed his asthma inhaler to him and it hit his wrist, the Stamford Advocate reported. Police said that Nowlin was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 13, and charged with strangulation, unlawful restraint, and disorderly conduct, the Stamford Advocate story said.
