Danbury Crush Softball Players Donate To Local Charities DANBURY, Conn. -- The Danbury Crush softball program held its annual Cancer Charity Softball Tournament and made donations to local charities. The team presented a check to Ann's Place in Danbury in the amount of $1,100. Ann's place is a local community center helping patients and families stricken by cancer with counseling, wellness activities and support. The program also made donations to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society in excess of $350 and the Chris Andrade Memorial Scholarship Fund in the amount of $500. Fonte has more than 30 years working as an educator. Westchester Landmark Muscoot Farm Will Be Named After Al DelBello WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Muscoot Farm in Somers will be named after former Westchester County Executive Alfred DelBello, according to an announcement Thursday night at the Westchester County Association’s Fall Leadership Dinner. Danbury Flyers Qualify Athletes For Regional Cross Country Race DANBURY, Conn. The Danbury Flyers ran in the Junior Olympic Cross Country District Meet on Sunday in Litchfield. Several members of Danbury High School's boys and girls cross country teams donned the Flyers uniform to compete alongside the middle school members of the Flyers at the prestigious meet. Competitors ran courses varying in length from 2000m to 5000 meters at White Memorial Foundation. McMahon High's Van Der Els Officially Signs To Run For UConn NORWALK, Conn. -- Brien McMahon High senior Eric van der Els officially signed his letter of intent this week to continue his cross country and track career at the University of Connecticut. Van der Els won the State Open, Class LL and Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference championships this year. He finished third in New England.
