Man Dies Playing Soccer In Maryland, Loved Ones Say Akindeji Agarah died doing what he loved. Agarah, 29, was playing soccer on Sunday, Aug. 6 — a game in which he scored a goal — when he fell and started gasping for breath, according to a campaign launched by loved ones. Attempts from his teammates, paramedics, and doctors to save him were futile. The GoFundMe created to assist with funeral expenses had raised $22,700 as of Monday, Aug. 21. Police Seek ID Of Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Prince George's County Police are seeking the identity of a pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash in Prince George's County on Sunday, Aug. 20, authorities said. At 3:15 a.m., the pedestrian was found in the roadway in the 2000 block of University Boulevard in Adelphia, the Prince George's County Police Department said. The striking vehicle did not remain on the scene, police said. Police said they are actively investigating to help to identify the pedestrian and the driver. 'This Is Us' Star Ron Cephas Jones, Of Paterson, Dies At 66 Ron Cephas Jones, a Paterson native who won two Emmys for his role on "This is Us", died on Sunday, Aug. 19 at the age of 66. Jones attended John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson and graduated from Ramapo College. He starred in movies like "He Got Game," "Sweet and Lowdown" and "Across the Universe" and guest starred on "Law and Order," "NYPD Blue" and "Mr. Robot." "This is Us" which premiered in 2016, was Jones signature role. He played William Hill, who reconnects with his son, who was given up for adoption as a newborn. Man Killed In West New York Apartment Fire: Prosecutors A 55-year-old man was killed in an apartment fire in West New York on Sunday, August 20, authorities said. At 5 a.m. North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue was notified of a fire at an apartment above 6213 Bergenline Avenue, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Upon arrival, first responders found heavy smoke coming from a bedroom within the apartment, Suarez said. Teenage Boy Killed In Newark Double Shooting: Prosecutors A 17-year-old boy was killed and a man was injured in a shooting in Newark on Thursday, August 17, authorities said. At 6:30 p.m., Newark police responded to a report of a car crash and a shooting on the 600 block of South 20th Street in Newark, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N.
