An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. $50K! Paterson Lotto Player Wins Big It was a lucky Saturday for one New Jersey Lottery player in Paterson. A ticket sold in Paterson matched four of the white balls and the Power Ball in the drawing held on Saturday, Sept. 9, winning $50,000.The ticket was sold at C Town Generation Next on Madison Avenue. The winning numbers for the Saturday, September 9, drawing were: 11, 19, 29, 63, and 68. The Red Power Ball number was 25.

Man Critically Injured At Jersey City Construction Site: Authorities (Updated) A man was critically injured after a forklift overturned while he was working at a construction site in Jersey City on Monday morning, Sept. 11, authorities said. The incident occurred at 425 Summit Avenue at 8:09 a.m., Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. The man was removed the site and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, Wallace-Scalfione said. The victim was employed by L&W Supplies, a spokesman for OSHA said. OSHA said it has six months to conduct an investigation and release its findings.

Man Fatally Shot In Newark: Prosecutors A 39-year-old Newark man was fatally shot on Friday, Sept. 8, authorities said. At 6:43 p.m., Newark police responded to a shooting on the 100 block of Brookdale Avenue and found Ralph Harris suffering from gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. He was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead soon after, Stephens and Fragé said. Pedestrian Seriously Injured, Man Charged With DWI In North Bergen Crash: Prosecutors A 65-year-old woman was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle driven by a drunk driver on the early morning of Friday, Sept. 8 in North Bergen, authorities said. At 3:30 a.m., North Bergen police responded to a crash at Bergenline Ave and 92nd St, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
