Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car In Linden: Police A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Linden on Monday, Oct. 2 authorities said. The victim, who has not been identified, was crossing E. St. George Avenue from the Roselle Street side when he was struck by an SUV traveling eastbound, Linden police said. The victim was transported to Trinitas Regional Medical Center in critical condition and was later pronounced deceased, police said. Teterboro Airport Noise Persists: Newly-Formed Group Pushes FAA For Alternate Flight Path Residents who live near Teterboro Airport have had enough with the noise. More than 840 people in the Pascack Valley region, who have formed the group Taxpayers for Airport Noise Solutions, have signed a petition requesting the FAA to change the flight plans for flights into Teterboro Airport Runway 19, by having them fly over Route 17. Signers include the mayors of Emerson, Hillsdale, Montvale, Old Tappan, Oradell, Park Ridge, River Vale, Washington Township, Westwood, and Woodcliff Lake. $50K Lotto Ticket Sold In Hudson County One of three Powerball tickets good for $50,000 was sold in Hudson County. The ticket from the Saturday, Sept. 30 drawing was sold at J & L $.99 Cents & Up on Ocean Avenue in Jersey City. The winning numbers were 19, 30, 37, 44, and 46. The red Powerball drawn was 02 and the Power Play was 2x. The other two winning tickets were sold in Morris and Monmouth counties.

West New York Helps Woman Seriously Injured After Pinned By Van Iris Flores has had five surgeries since she was pinned by a reversing van on Wednesday, Sept. 6. The incident caused multiple fractures on her pelvic bone, spine, hips and legs, along with other internal wounds. Flores faces future surgeries and will undergo physical therapy. A fundraiser has been set up to assist with her recovery. As of Monday, Oct. 2, more than $5,410 has been raised. Support Surges For Family After Pets Die In Budd Lake Fire In the blink of an eye Regina and Adam Buga lost everything. Their home in Budd Lake was destroyed by a fire on Saturday, Sept. 16. The fire also claimed the lives of their dog and cat. The Bugas had lived in the home for 20 years and lost all their possessions. A fundraiser has been created to assist them. As of Monday, Oct. 2, almost $20,000 has been raised. "The family lost everything," donor John Zawistoski said. "I would expect the community to do the same if a tragedy happened to my family." Man Sexually Assaulted Woman In Jersey City: Prosecutors Raul Pena, a 31-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 29-year-old woman at a residence in Jersey City, authorities said. The sexual assault occurred on Sunday, Aug. 20, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The woman had met Pena through an acquaintance in the hours leading up to the assault, Suarez said. Pena was charged with aggravated sexual assault in the first degree, Suarez said. Male Body Found In Newark Dumpster: Prosecutors A body of a man was found in a dumpster in Newark on Thursday, Sept. 28, authorities said. At 5:19 p.m., Newark police found the body inside a dumpster on the 600 block of Clinton Avenue, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N.
