Stamford's AmeriCares Assists Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles 2015 STAMFORD, Conn. -- AmeriCares is a proud supporter of the Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles 2015 (LA2015), providing donated medical supplies to keep athletes healthy throughout nine days of competition. The emergency response and global health organization shipped 250 cases of medical supplies in advance of the World Games, which began Saturday, July 25, for use by volunteer medical professionals caring for the athletes. Bridgeport DMV Office To Close Temporarily For Online Upgrades FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Major customer service improvements, including the addition of new online services, will require the state Department of Motor Vehicles to close its offices – except for licensing services – from Tuesday, Aug. 11, through Saturday, Aug. 15. Patrick Brian O'Keefe, Of Somers, 79 SOMERS, N.Y. -- Patrick Brian O'Keefe, recently of Somers and longtime resident of Yorktown Heights, died on July 20, 2015. He was 79 years old. O'Keefe was born in New York City to Michael and Margaret O'Keefe and graduated from St. John's University. He earned an MBA from Iona College and had a successful career with IBM.
