Students At Darien's Holmes Elementary Show Off Talents DARIEN, Conn. -- Holmes Elementary School in Darien hosted its third Annual H Factor Talent Show at Darien High School on March 28. The talent show featured 66 students from third through fifth grade across 27 different performing acts.  A flash mob of teachers and administrators surprised students with a performance of "YMCA" and asked the crowd to join them in the fun.

The benefit will honor country singer Glen Campbell and his efforts to raise awareness for Alzheimer's disease. From 2011-12, Campbell embarked on a farewell tour with his wife, Kim, by his side to cope with Alzheimer's before a national audience. John Jay Middle School Performs 'The Addams Family' CROSS RIVER, N.Y. -- They're creepy and they're kooky, and now they're being resurrected onstage by the John Jay Middle School Drama Club. "The Addams Family Musical" comes to life this week for four performances by a cast and crew of more than 60 people at the JJMS theater stage. Performances dates and times are 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are available for purchase in the JJMS theater lobby 30 minutes before showtime. Students and families can purchase tickets in the school's dining room during lunch period.

Mount Vernon City Council to Honor Outstanding Citizens MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Mount Vernon City Council will honor outstanding citizens and groups that have contributed to the city in a ceremony on April 8.  Honorees include the following: Nancy Fitch, the first female and African-American City Clerk of Mount Vernon; Edna Harris, advocate for seniors, safety and exemplary faith-based leadership; Henry A. May, historian, author and founder of Parent Involvement Day; and all school safety crossing guards at Mount Vernon.  The ceremony will be held April 8 at 7 p.m. during a regular meeting in the City Council Chambers.
