Sustainable Living Series Coming To Scarsdale Library SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Scarsdale Library will host two free programs on "going green" for the summer at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, and Thursday, May 7. “The success of the gardening programs at the schools is an example of Scarsdale’s commitment to sustainable living," said Library Director Elizabeth Bermel. Johnny "Sticker Boy" Owens To Play Broken Bow Brewery TUCKAHOE, N.Y. — Poughkeepise singer-songwriter Johnny "Sticker Boy" Owens will perform at Broken Bow Brewery on Friday, May 8. The alt folk/grunge country artist released his debut album, "Charlene Darling," in December through Green Line Records and attends SUNY New Paltz. Family University Coming to New Rochelle High School NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — New York Presbyterian Hospital and New Rochelle FOCUS will host their sixth annual Family University from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday at New Rochelle High School. This year's program includes workshops for parents and middle- and high-school students on the healthy development of youth. Workshops will be available for Spanish-speakers. Tuckahoe Public Library To Display Custom Book Covers TUCKAHOE, N.Y. -- Instead of judging a book by its cover, Tuckahoe children and teenagers can design one for their favorite fiction book. Tuckahoe Public Library is taking cover submissions until April 22 and all designs will be on display at the library on April 29. Youth interested in participating are to include a front cover image featuring a drawing or collage along with the title of the book, the designer's name and a brief summary of the book. Supplies are available from the librarians. Every participating designer will receive a special treat.

Westchester Poets To Read At Pre-Launch Of Books NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Westchester poets Michael Collins and Mary Lou Buschi will read from their forthcoming collections at a pre-launch on April 16 at Recologie. Collins wrote his upcoming short collection, "Harbor Mandala" during walks around Mamaroneck Harbor. Buschi's "Awful Baby" is a full-length collection with themes of love, loss and family.
