Rye YMCA Celebrates Spirit Of Giving At Annual Dinner
RYE, N.Y. -- The Rye YMCA had its annual dinner May 27 at the Apawamis Club, giving board members, staff and community residents the change to celebrate the Y's accomplishments the past year and recognize the commitment of its volunteers, according to a press release.

Ralph Angelo Valenzano, Of Stamford, 97, U.S. Army Veteran
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Ralph Angelo Valenzano died June 6, 2015 at the Regency Heights Nursing Home in Stamford. He was 97 years old.
Valenzano was born June 16, 1917, in Stamford, and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Stamford High School in the class of 1934 and served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1942-46. Valenzano was employed by the Stamford Advocate for more than 25 years as a printer and was a former member of the Elks B.P.O.E. Club of Stamford.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Approximately 390 Berkeley College faculty, staff, alumni and honor students volutneered more than 1,400 hours of community service at three New York sites, including two in White Plains, Friday, June 5.
The sixth annual Berkeley College Community Service Day provides Berkeley College faculty, staff, alumni and students with an opportunity to serve the community at various service-based organizations, according to a press release.

Meredith Davidson Avery, 86, Of Riverside
RIVERSIDE, Conn. -- Meredith Davidson Avery, of Riverside, died Monday, June 8, 2015. She was 86 years old.
She was born Sept. 3, 1928, in New Rochelle, N.Y. Avery graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a Bachelor of Arts in religion in 1950. Her first job was with Burson-Marstellar in New York City. Later, she worked for the Town of Greenwich Public Health Service Department, until she retired in the mid-1990s.
