BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Mayor Mary Marvin writes a column that is republished by the Daily Voice. WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton 7th grade girls team, sponsored by Tavern on 7 Bar and Grill, played two non-league games this past weekend and attained victory in both of them. Beginning Saturday afternoon, the Warriors came out strong, dominating Ridgefield 6G in a 33-25 victory. During the game, key foul shots were made by Zoe Rappaport followed by tenacious defense from Sophie Sudano and Brynn Burke. CROSS RIVER, N.Y. -- The Office of the State Comptroller has found no problems with finances in the Katonah-Lewisboro school district. The district received a letter on Wednesday, Dec. 10, from the comptroller's office stating that a risk assessment of the district’s internal controls, conducted over a three-week period in October and November, resulted in a determination that district does not need further services from the state. Peekskill Man Stopped For Speeding Charged With DWI Under Leandra's Law
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Juan Chavez Garcia, 33, of Peekskill was charged with DWI under Leandra's Law by state police on Saturday. Troopers were patrolling North Division Street in Peekskill at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday when they observed a 2014 Honda CRV traveling 48 in a 30 MPH zone and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, according to police. Bridgeport Man Who Defrauded Oil Companies, Customers Gets Prison Time
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A 40-year-old Bridgeport man was sentenced Friday to 27 months in prison plus three years supervised release for operating a heating-oil scheme, said Deirdre M. Daly, United States attorney for Connecticut. Marc Cannon was convicted of operating a scheme to defraud both oil companies and individuals whose oil deliveries he fraudulently brokered, Daly said.
