New Closures Scheduled On Long Island Expressway A new closure on the Long Island Expressway was announced to facilitate the installation of new overhead signs, transportation officials said. Man Hits Police Vehicle During Chase, Injuring Officer On Long Island: Indictment A Long Island man has been indicted after he allegedly injured a police officer during a chase by crashing his car into the officer’s vehicle, authorities said. On Monday, Aug. 28, the Suffolk County District Attorney announced the indictment of 45-year-old Mastic resident John Imbasciani on charges of assault and reckless endangerment after a police chase he was involved in. Man Sold Fake Oxy Pills, Leading To Overdoses, Death On Long Island: DA A Long Island man was indicted for allegedly selling fake oxycodone pills that contained fentanyl, causing two overdoses and one death, according to authorities. Anthony Trimboli, age 34 of Bayport, was arraigned on Friday, Aug. 25 on charges relating to the illegal sale of counterfeit pills, the Suffolk County District Attorney announced. Woman Strikes Firefighters With Car, Flees On Long Island: Police Authorities are searching for a driver who they say ignored firefighter’s emergency lights, leading to a hit-and-run that left two of the firefighters injured.
