Woman Held Hostage, Prompting Pursuit On Long Island: Police An investigation has been launched after reports of a woman being held against her will spurred a high-speed chase on Long Island, police said. It happened on Monday, Nov. 13, according to Glen Cove Police. At approximately 12:15 p.m., police saw a Black 2017 Honda Accord, which had been reported to contain a woman held against her will. DUI Arrest: Man Nabbed After Driving Past Cops In CT, Police Say A Massachusetts man was arrested in Connecticut after he failed to move over for a police vehicle, leading the authorities to believe he was intoxicated. It happened at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12 in the Windham County town of Killingly, according to Connecticut State Police. Long Island House Fire: 1 Killed, 8 Evacuated An early-morning fire at a Long Island home with nearly 10 people inside has left one dead and many others displaced, officials said. It happened in Hempstead on Monday, Nov. 13, according to Nassau County Police. At approximately 5:40 a.m., the Devon Road home went up in flames with nine people inside. The Hempstead Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire and evacuate eight people. $500K Burglaries: Man Indicted For Multiple Long Island Incidents, DA Says A man is facing charges after officials claim he burglarized Long Island businesses, stealing more than $500,000 in both merchandise and in currency. John Cipolla, age 50, was indicted for the 2022 Plainview incidents, the Nassau County District Attorney announced on Friday, Nov. 10. Cipolla, a resident of Long Island City, first began his alleged monthslong conspiracy on July 31, 2022. Man Caught With Stolen Package, Cocaine On Long Island: Police A Long Island man is in custody after he was caught on camera stealing a package off of a doorstep — and later was found with the stolen goods and drugs, police said. It happened on Thursday, Nov. 9 in Baldwin, according to Nassau County Police. Long Island Pharmacy Burglar Prompts Investigation Police are asking for the community’s help in locating a burglar who stole money from a Long Island CVS and ran off. The burglary happened on Wednesday, Nov. 8 in Riverhead, according to the town’s police department.
