Knife-Wielding Man Shot By Newark Police: Prosecutors A 22-year old Newark man was shot by police on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 28 after he threatened them with a knife, police said. Quadir Harvey suffered non-life threatening injuries in the shooting, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura said. Newark Man Fatally Shot On New Year's Eve: Prosecutors A 67-year-old Newark man was fatally shot on the morning of Sunday, Dec. 31, authorities said. At 7:01 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of Malvern Street and found Jose Gaona suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Woman Killed In Crash Was Analyst For NJ Governor's Office: Murphy The 25-year-old Princeton resident killed in a car crash on New Year's Day, in Middlesex County has been identified as a former state worker. Louisa Bradlow Carman worked as a policy analyst in the state's Office of Health Care Affordability and Transparency, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said. Satis Bistro Expands In Jersey City With 87 Sussex 2024 is looking to be a banner year for the Jersey City food scene. Satis Bistro announced it is opening another restaurant in Jersey City called 87 Sussex, adjacent to its location at 212 Washington Street. 87 Sussex is expected to open sometime at the end of January. Head-On Crash Into NJ Stone Wall Kills PA Man, Injures Female Passenger: Police A 55-year-old Pennsylvania man was killed and another person was injured after their car crashed into a wall in Hillsborough on Friday, Dec. 29, authorities said. Employee Assaulted, Locked In Closet During Armed Robbery Of Route 70 Mattress Store: PD A mattress store employee was assaulted and locked in a closet during an armed robbery in Evesham on Wednesday, Dec. 27, authorities said. At 6:30 p.m., an unknown man, wearing all black with a face covering and carrying a black weapon, believed to be a knife, entered the Mattress Warehouse and demanded money, Evesham police said.
