Wrong-Way Tractor Trailer Crosses Double-Yellow Lines, Traps Woman In Building: Bridgewater PD
A tractor trailer driver wreaked havoc in Bridgewater when he crossed the double-yellow line, struck several parked cars, a moving vehicle, and crashed into a building trapping an occupant, police said. Wesley Jefferson, 62, of Dansville, NY, was heading north on Finderne Avenue around 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, when he crossed the solid double yellow lines into the southbound lanes of travel in Bridgewater, local police said. Heroin, Cocaine Seized From Unlicensed Driver In St. Mary's Traffic Stop: Sheriff
A 37-year-old Charlotte Hall man was found with drugs in a Mechanicsville traffic stop on Martin Luther King. Jr. Day, authorities said. While conducting proactive traffic enforcement in Mechanicsville, Deputy Joseph Senatore stopped Charles Dallas Biagi, Jr. for a safety violation around 2:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, the county sheriff's office said. Senatore saw drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, and a subsequent search of the car and Biagi turned up heroin capsules, buprenorphine, and cocaine, authorities said. 'This Is Your Final Warning:' NJ Pair Set Off Bomb In Biz Associate's Driveway, Feds Say
While being interviewed by investigators, a New York resident got the following text message: "Knock knock, show up, and what do you think is next. Snow Day! Weather Closes Schools Across Virginia
Schools across Northern Virginia are closed Tuesday, Jan. 16 due to the snow. Snow began falling across the region Monday, Jan. 15, and is expected to turn to a wintry mix overnight. All Fairfax, Stafford, Loudoun, Prince William, Alexandria, and Arlington public schools will be closed on Tuesday. The National Weather Service shows Northern Virginia is expected to see 1 to 3 inches by the end of the night Monday, Jan. 15. Rain, snow, and freezing rain will fall likely before noon, with another chance of snow later in the day, making for hazardous road conditions.

The 76-year-old father who helped launch the 9/11 compensation fund, his son's namesake, was struck and killed by an SUV this weekend, Daily Voice has learned. Joseph C. Zadroga, of Little Egg Harbor, was standing just outside of his parked vehicle when an 82-yer-old driver from Absecon struck him while pulling into a parking spot around 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Bacharach Rehabilitation at 61 W. A 27-year-old man has been arrested after police said he struck a 14-year-old and grabbed his neck during an argument in Prince William County. Alvaro Jasmany Toledo-Garcia and the boy were arguing at The Crossings at Summerland Apartments located in the 13700 block of Keelingwood Cl., in Woodbridge, around 11 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, county police said. Dad Kills Teen Children, Himself In Maryland: Police
A 42-year-old dad killed his two teenage children and then himself in Howard County over the weekend police said. Christopher Zanski is believed to have fatally shot 17-year-old Braden and 15-year-old Hailey on the 1400 block of Triadelphia Road in Glenelg, and then himself Howard County police said. Officers found their bodies while performing a welfare check around 11 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, authorities said. There are no indications that anyone else was involved in the incident and a motive has not immediately been identified.

Arrest Made In Baltimore Shootout That Struck Innocent Deliveryman
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shootout in which a deliveryman was stuck by a stray bullet last month in Baltimore. Darrien Gaither of Baltimore has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the Dec. 29, 2023 incident on the 2400 block of Liberty Heights Avenue, Baltimore police said. Gaither was in one group of juveniles that had been exchanging gunfire in a parking lot around 6:10 p.m., police said. A stray bullet in the shootout struck the deliveryman, 50, in the ankle. Unlicensed Ohio Driver Leads 85 MPH Pursuit Through Stafford County Yards: Sheriff
An Ohio man is facing charges after leading a high-speed pursuit through Stafford County Saturday, Jan. 14, police said. Deputy J.W. Ahern tried to stop a Toyota Sequoia headed west on Garrisonville Road near Eustace Road for not having any rear lights around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said in a release.
