Police Probing Catalytic Converter Thefts From School Buses On Long Island Police are investigating after catalytic converters were stolen from nearly a dozen school buses on Long Island. Suffolk County Police said the thefts occurred sometime between Saturday, June 11, and Monday, June 13, as the buses sat parked at the Suffolk Transportation lot on Pond Road in Ronkonkoma. A total of 10 catalytic converters were nabbed from the buses, police said. They were valued at approximately $5,000. The trio was arrested Wednesday, June 22, following a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking in the area, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Colonie Police said the elderly woman called 911 Wednesday morning, June 22, saying she had received a phone call that she believed to be a scam. She told police a man had called claiming to be an attorney for her granddaughter and said he needed bail money to get her out of jail. Teens Busted With AR-15 Rifle, Handgun In Capital District, Police Say Two 16-and-17-year-old boys are facing charges after they were allegedly busted carrying loaded guns in the Capital District. Albany Police said they spotted the teens at around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, as the boys walked near McCrossin Avenue and Thornton Street in Albany.
