Duo Wanted For Stealing $3.2K In Merchandise From Mohegan Lake Walmart, Police Say If you recognize this duo, New York State Police want to hear from you. Troopers in Northern Westchester County said the two are wanted in connection with a theft that occurred at a Walmart store in Mohegan Lake. The incident reportedly happened at around 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 16 at the Walmart on East Main Street. Investigators said the pair stole over $3,200 worth of merchandise before leaving in a dark-colored two-door sedan. Driver Busted With 102 Grams Of Cocaine In Capital District, Cops Say A Capital District man is behind bars after police said he was busted driving on the New York State Thruway with more than 100 grams of cocaine. Schenectady resident Erick Olivera, age 34, was stopped by New York State Police at around 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 29 as he drove along I-87 in the town of Athens. During their conversation with Olivera, troopers determined they had probable cause to search his vehicle and found approximately 102 grams of cocaine, police said. Brand-New Poll Sheds Light On NY Gubernatorial Race Between Kathy Hochul, Lee Zeldin With a little over three months until New Yorkers choose their next governor, new polling shows Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul appears to be the favorite over her Republican opponent, Congressman Lee Zeldin. Hochul holds a 14-point lead over Zeldin, 53 to 39 percent, according to a new Siena College poll. Among their parties, Hochul garnered support from 81 percent of Democrats while 84 percent of Republicans backed Zeldin. 1 Killed, 5 Injured In Overnight Shootings In Capital District One man is dead and several others are injured following a pair of overnight shootings in the Capital District. Police said officers in Albany were called at around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 to the area of Central and Lexington avenues for reports of shots fired. Grandfather Of 6-Year-Old Cancer Patient Killed In Motorcycle Crash In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley family already grappling with their 6-year-old daughter’s cancer diagnosis has been jolted by a new tragedy. Dutchess County resident Michael Manetta, age 54, was killed in a motorcycle crash in Columbia County on Sunday, July 31, New York State Police said. A preliminary investigation found that Manetta, of Red Hook, was riding his motorcycle on Route 7A in the town of Copake shortly before 11 a.m. when a driver cut him off while making a left turn. Suspect Punched Victim Unconscious During Robbery In Capital District, Police Say A 23-year-old Capital District man remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit after police said he was attacked during a robbery. Albany Police said the incident occurred shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday, July 30, near South Pearl and Schuyler streets. Officers were initially called with reports of a man with a weapon. Police Issue Alert For Missing Man From Western Mass Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man from the region who hasn’t been seen in several weeks. In Berkshire County, Pittsfield Police said they’re looking for Lee Walter Meisenheimer, age 69, who was last seen sometime around Wednesday, July 13. He’s known to frequent grocery stores and Walmart in the Coltsville area of Pittsfield, police said. Authorities described Meisenheimer as a white male with salt and pepper hair and blue eyes.
