Elevated Lead Levels Found In Drinking Water In Capital Region Officials are warning of elevated levels of lead that were found in drinking water in the region. In Rensselaer County, the City of Troy revealed that quality monitoring conducted by the Troy Public Utilities department found elevated lead levels in some of the 60 homes and buildings tested throughout the city. “Even though the source of water for the city is free of lead, the test samples taken from inside representative residential homes show an exceedance of lead possibly due to lead water service lines or interior lead plumbing,” reads a city statement posted Monday, Jan. 30. Wanted 19-Year-Old Flashed Gun At Another Car On Long Island, Police Say A 19-year-old man wanted by police is accused of brandishing a gun at another car while driving on Long Island, authorities said. Kyle Gritser, of Hicksville, was arrested at around 12:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, in connection with an incident that occurred roughly an hour before in Bethpage, according to Nassau County Police. Detectives said Gritser was driving eastbound on Old Country Road near South Oyster Bay Road at around 11:30 p.m. when he flashed a gun at four people in another car. Brent Carter, of Las Vegas, pleaded guilty to conveying a hoax and false information in federal court in Albany Friday, Jan. 13.
