Man Dies In Wrong-Way Crash On Long Island Highway A 73-year-old man was killed in a wrong-way crash on a Long Island highway late Monday night, Feb. 6. Emergency crews in Islip were called just after 10:30 p.m. with reports of a crash on the southbound Southern/Heckscher State Parkway between exits 44 and 45, according to State Police. A preliminary investigation found that Roy Nelson, of Holbrook, was driving northbound in the southbound lanes when he struck a Tesla head on. Man Throws Explosive Device On SUV Parked At Long Island Home Police are investigating after a man threw an explosive device onto a parked SUV outside a Long Island home. The incident happened at around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, in North Merrick, according to Nassau County Police. Investigators said the suspect threw the device onto the front of a Cadillac Escalade that was parked in the driveway of a home on Sherman Avenue. It ignited, damaging the vehicle’s front end. Alert Issued For Missing Vulnerable Adult From Long Island Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing vulnerable adult from Long Island. Kyle Cyriax, age 28, was last seen at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 in the hamlet of Brentwood, on Crooked Hill Road, according to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services. Drunk Driver On Thruway Had Teen In Car, Police Say A 33-year-old man is facing DWI charges after he was allegedly busted driving drunk on a highway with a teenager in the car, authorities said. Troopers in Albany County stopped Evan Person, of Ozone Park, Queens, at around 2 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, for a vehicle and traffic violation as he drove on I-87 in the town of Bethlehem, according to State Police.
