Man Dies In Fall From Pedestrian Bridge In Capital Region A man died after falling from a pedestrian bridge near the state Capitol, authorities confirmed. Emergency crews in Albany were called shortly before noon on Sunday, March 5, with reports of an unresponsive man at the Empire State Plaza, according to State Police. Investigators said the “despondent” Albany man fell approximately 45 feet from an elevated walkway over Madison Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers did not release the man’s name.

Duo Nabbed In Fatal Stabbing Of Man On Long Island Trail Police have arrested two suspects in the fatal stabbing of a man found on a Long Island walking and biking trail. Jose Martinez-Vazquez, age 24, and Tiffany Diaz-Cabrera, age 20, both of Port Jefferson Station, were arrested Sunday, March 5, for second-degree murder in the death of Benjamin Flores-Mendez, according to Suffolk County Police. Alert Issued For Missing Long Island 34-Year-Old Police are asking for help in locating a missing Long Island man. Zachariah Bowens, age 34, was last seen at around 5:20 p.m. Friday, March 3, on Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station, according to Suffolk County Police. Bowens, who is classified as vulnerable, suffers from schizophrenia and is believed to be suicidal, police said. He may be in need of medical attention. Officials described him as a white man standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. Bean for false advertising, claiming that some of the company’s waterproof boots are not actually waterproof. Lane Closures Scheduled On Long Island Expressway Scheduled roadwork on the Long Island Expressway could spell delays for drivers during the first full week of March. The westbound right lane of I-495 in Oyster Bay is set to close Tuesday, March 7, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. between Sunnyside Boulevard and State Route 135, according to the Department of Transportation. Drunk Driver Leads Troopers On Thruway Chase, Intentionally Strikes Cop Cars, Police Say A 29-year-old man is facing multiple charges after allegedly leading New York State Police troopers on a highway chase before intentionally striking two police vehicles, authorities said. Slithery Surprise: 14-Foot Python Found On Side Of NY Road Wildlife officers in New York got a slithery surprise on Valentine’s Day when a massive reticulated python was found on the side of a Long Island road.
