Driver Blaring Music Rams Officer With Vehicle In Arlington, Police Say
A 23-year-old man was arrested for ramming an officer with his car in Arlington over the weekend, police said. Officers were called to the 800 block of N. Wakefield Street around 5 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, for a vehicle blasting music, where they found Taron Butler in a car matching the description, police said in a release. As the officer approached the vehicle on foot, the suspect began to drive away, striking an officer with the car, police said. The officer did not report any injuries. An investigation is apparently under way in Arlington into apparent misuse of a county camera. Fox5 had been watching Arlington County's camera system to observe repair work at the scene of a ruptured 16-inch pipe at South Walter Reed Drive, just north of South Four Mile Run Drive, last Friday, June 7, when employees notice something awry. Police Probe 'Non-Suspicious' Death In Arlington
Police in Arlington were investigating a "non-suspicious" death on Sunday, June 9. A man was found dead outside on the 700 block of 12th Street South around 11:20 a.m., police tell Daily Voice. Based on the preliminary investigation, the death does not appear suspicious and there is no ongoing threat to the community, police said. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

Jermaine “Jay” Robinson, a professional wrestler from Alexandria, died on June 2, 2024. He was 50 years old. Arrest Made In Leesburg Landscaping Company Burglary
A 23-year-old man has been arrested in a Leesburg burglary, police said. Kelvin Lainez-Cardena is believed to have stolen landscaping equipment from a landscaping company on Cardinal Park Drive SE, local police said. The incident was reported to police around 1 a.m. on April 1, police said. The equipment was recovered from a property in the 21000 block of Pon Farr Court in Leesburg. Authorities have released more information about a fatal crash on a busy New York road that left a New Jersey man dead. Peter Leist, 62, of Denville, NJ was heading west on Route 301 in Carmel, NY, when he crossed over the double yellow lines to pass a few vehicles and collided head-on with a small bus, around 2:10 p.m. Friday, May 31, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said. A barber calling police on his neighbor shot and killed him while on the phone with dispatchers, authorities in Montgomery County said. Stephen Strassburg, of Hatboro, was on the phone with dispatchers when 41-year-old Maurice Byrd shot him just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Services have been finalized for a pair of 23-year-old twin brothers killed in a Vineland crash. John and Patrick Mahoney, both of Washington Township, died in a collision on Tuesday, June 4 at Union and Mays Landing Roads, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
