Christian Whalen was trying to break up a fight that broke out along Spotswood Furnace Road in Fredericksburg when he was shot by Kenneth Watson, 18, around 1 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, authorities previously said.  Christian Whalen Facebook photo Whalen died as a result of the shooting, and his girlfriend, Lacy Milling, is speaking out. Driver Hospitalized In Route 287 Rollover Crash In Franklin Lakes: Police (Update) One person was hospitalized in a rollover crash on Route 287 Wednesday morning, Sept. 4, authorities said. A motorist was heading south when the driver lost control, struck a guardrail, and overturned near milepost 61.4 in Franklin Lakes just before 10 a.m., a spokesperson for New Jersey State Police said. The driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.

Justin Hoyt, Passaic County Native, Dies, 26 Passaic County native Justin Hoyt died on Tuesday, Aug. 27, his obituary on the Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home website says. He was 26 years old. A Woodland Park native, Justin also lived in Little Falls but had moved to California two years ago to bettering himself and "working with those suffering from addiction, helping others on their journey," his obituary says.  Justin was remembered as a bright light who felt most comfortable in nature. Thomas W. Donlen is responsible for slashing all four times on a school vehicle at the South Bergen Jointure School on Maywood Avenue in September 2023, Maywood Police Detective Sgt.
