An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Family Of Slain Yonkers MLB Draft Choice Holds Scholarship Softball Tourney YONKERS, N.Y. -- More than 700 people will be coming together in Yonkers to play softball and remember Mike Nolan. Nolan's family is hosting a softball tournament on Saturday, July 22 at Cook Field in Yonkers to raise money for the Michael Nolan Scholarship Fund from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Twenty teams will be playing, including the Yonkers Police Department, Yonkers Fire Department, and Westchester County Police. Ronald Sabella, 80, Directed Dental Practice In Putnam Dr. Ronald A. Sabella, who managed a dental practice in Putnam, died on July 5 in Naples, Fl. He was 80 years old. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, July 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Road in Naples. Dr. Sabella was born Dec. 2, 1936, in The Bronx, the son of Mildred Milo and Albert Sabella. Former State Senator Leibell's Chief Of Staff Faces DWI Charge In Putnam PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. - Former Sen. Vincent Leibell's chief of staff is back in legal hot water. Raymond Maguire, who pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in the investigation that sent Leibell to prison, was arrested and charged with DWI in Patterson last month after a fellow motorist contacted the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office to report an erratic driver on Route 22. New Castle Republicans Foregoing Democratic Primary NEW CASTLE, N.Y. -- Supervisor Rob Greenstein said his Republican slate will not be trying to force a Democratic primary this fall. The New Castle Democrats unanimously rejected Councilman Adam Brodsky's request to be on the ballot in a September primary. MLB Commissioner Manfred Of Tarrytown Grants Teen's All-Star Game Wish TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- A diehard Yankee fan will be attending Tuesday's Midsummer Classic, all thanks to MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred.
