3 Fairfield Women's Basketball Players Earn Conference Honors FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Three Fairfield University women's basketball players, including Danbury's Casey Smith, earned all-league honors Monday from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Kristen Schatzlein, a senior from Tolland, was named the first team. Smith, a junior from Danbury, and Kelsey Carey, a junior from Staten Island, N.Y., were named the third team. Schatzlein becomes the first Fairfield guard to be named to the All-MAAC first team since Sabra Wrice received the honor in 2008. Lakeland Grad Jarosz Named All-Conference In MAAC POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Tori Jarosz, a senior on the Marist College women's basketball team, was honored Monday with a first-team selection on the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference all-league team. The conference announced the selections Monday and were made by the league’s 11 head coaches. She was joined on the first team by teammate Sydney Coffey. The first team consists of Kristin Schatzlein from Fairfield University, Iona College’s Joy Adams and Marina Lizarazu, along with Jarosz and Coffey.
