Shoplifter Runs Across Route 17, Into Brook After $2K Paramus Theft: Police
A shoplifter ran across Route 17 and into a brook after filling three rolling suitcases with more than $2,000 worth of stolen merchandise at a Paramus store, authorities said.
Maki J. Davis, 22, of Brooklyn, was arrested following the theft at Marshalls on Route 17 South around 11:32 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, Paramus Police Chief Robert M. Guidetti said.
Store employees reported Davis was systematically concealing clothing inside a large rolling suitcase before repeating the process twice, ultimately filling three suitcases, police said.

After a father of four was stabbed to death in a random attack on the New York City subway, his children have launched a fundraiser to honor his life.
Mesias Lojano, 59, of Jamaica, Queens, was killed while riding the J train near Woodhaven Boulevard on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
