Man Fatally Shot In Newark: Prosecutors A 52-year-old Newark man was fatally shot on Sunday, July 16, authorities said. Around 6 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on the 300 block of Springfield Avenue, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Upon arrival, police found Lorenzo Boykins suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Stephens and Fragé said. Man Sexually Assaulted Woman In Jersey City: Prosecutors Vernard Doe, a 43-year-old man was arrested on Friday, July 14 for sexually assaulting a 29-year-old woman in June, prosecutors said. The sexual assault occurred inside a building on Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Doe was known to the victim, Suarez said.  Doe was charged with numerous counts of sexual assault and was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Secaucus. He was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance on Wednesday, July 19.

The Englewood native was defeated on the "Jeopardy!" that aired on Friday, July 14, ending his two-game winning streak. Through three games, Sopher won $27,202.
