Toddler Falls From Second Floor Window: Newark PD A 2-year-old toddler is in stable condition after he fell from a second-floor window on the evening of Sunday, March 17, authorities said. At 7:26 p.m., the toddler's mother carried him into the 4th Precinct and said he had fallen from the window in the 100 block of 16th Avenue, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The child was then transported to University Hospital, Fragé said.

Prior to becoming sheriff, Fontoura was a teacher in the Newark public school system and later a Newark police officer, achieving the rank of captain and serving as chief assistant to the police director. Truck Loaded With Water Waste Overturns On Route 80: Njsp A  tractor trailer filled with water waste overturned on Route 80 in Warren County on the early morning of Sunday, March 19, authorities said. At 12:44 a.m., a Kenworth truck was traveling eastbound on Route 80 in Knowlton Township when the driver lost directional control and overturned, Troy McNair, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver sustained moderate injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital, McNair said. The crash remains under investigation, McNair said.
