MA Man Charged After Fight At CT Park, Causing Hundreds To Flee, Police Say Hundreds of Connecticut parkgoers were sent into a panic and ran after two men got into a fight, and one allegedly showed a weapon. The incident occurred in New London County around 1 p.m., Saturday, May 11, at Poquonnock Plains Park in Groton. According to Capt. Man Found Shot Dead In Springfield ID'd As 49-Year-Old A 49-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a shooting on Friday, May 10, in Springfield, authorities announced.  Gustavo Cartagena, of Springfield, was found shot in the 60 block of Locust Street just after 1:35 a.m. after police were called to the area for reports of gunshots, Springfield police said.  Cartagena was dead when officers arrived.  Police are investigating the slaying.  Officers ask anyone with information about the slaying to contact Springfield detectives at 413-787-6355.
