$1M Lottery Ticket Sold In Wakefield It's going to be a Summer of Fun for one Bay Stater after they won $1 million in the Massachusetts State Lottery.  The winner picked up the major win by playing the "Lifetime Millions" game, a $50 scratch-off.  The Summer of Fun 2024 Trust of Chelmsford collected the check on Wednesday, July 24. They selected to take the lump sum payment of $650,000 (before taxes) rather than the annuity. The winner bought the ticket at a Mobil gas station at 950 Main St. in Wakefield. The store will get a $10,000 bonus for the sale.

6-Year-Old Hospitalized Following Carlisle Crash; Teen Cited Authorities said they have cited a 17-year-old boy with causing a crash in Carlisle that sent a 6-year-old to the hospital, where he remains more than a week later.  The two-car crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on July 15 at the North Road and Rutland Street intersection. Victim Of Fatal Somerville Shooting ID'd A 49-year-old man who was found shot on Monday night, July 22, in Somerville, has died, authorities said.  Paul Nolan, of Somerville, was shot just before 10:30 p.m., the Middlesex District Attorney said.  Police were called to Dartmouth Street to reports of a shooting. They found Noal suffering from gunshot wounds, and paramedics rushed him to Massachusetts General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.  Somerville police ask anyone with information to contact investigators at 617-625-1600 ext. 7250.
