Car Hits DOT Sign, Flips On Thruway In Rockland: Driver Escapes Through Windshield A driver escaped serious injury after crashing into a DOT message board in Rockland County and overturning their vehicle on the New York State Thruway Wednesday morning, May 14.  The crash happened on Wednesday morning, prompting a response from Spring Hill EMS and New York State Police. When crews arrived, they found the vehicle flipped over, but the driver had already crawled out through the windshield to escape.  Authorities say the driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital in stable condition by Spring Hill EMS.
