Norwalk High Seniors Hosting Car Wash To Fund Class Party
NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk High School Class of 2015 will have a car wash Sunday at the American Legion Parking Lot on County Street. The car wash is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and proceeds will support the senior class party at Quassy Amusement Park.

Ground Floor Coworking Hosts Mental Health Art Exhibit
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The Guidance Center of Westchester has partnered with Ground Floor Coworking in New Rochelle for “The Art of Mental Health: An Exhibition." Done in conjunction with Mental Health Awareness Month, the exhibition features work by TGCW clients and is curated by TGCW's Kara Rothschild, CAT-LP. “Art is a means for expressing things that we might otherwise not have a language for,” Rothschild said. “The possibilities of art therapy are virtually endless.” The exhibit includes painting, photography, poetry, drawings, sculptures and short stories. Artists Prepare To Shine At Darien's Annual Art Show And Sale
DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Arts Center is seeking participants of all ages for its 57th Annual Art Show and Sale. The entry fee for artists is $20 for adults and $10 per piece for children. Artists can submit up to two pieces of artwork. If submitting two pieces, at least one must be designated for sale. A 25 percent commission from each sale will benefit the Darien Arts Center. Davis Readathon Raises More Than $28,000 For Library Books
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Closing ceremonies for the Davis Read-a-thon were May 11. The students at Davis Elementary School read more than one million minutes and raised more than $28,000. Prizes were awarded for exceptional reading milestones. Proceeds will be used to purchase additional library books.

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Illustrator and author Raúl Colón recently visited students at The Chapel School, where he discussed his life and influences and displayed his illustrations in three presentations for the various grades. “Most of humanity likes to draw,” Colón said, during the visit. His interest in drawing bodies in motion came from "Spider-Man" artist Steve Ditko." As a child, Colón suffered from chronic asthma and spent his time in bed reading comic books and drawing his favorite characters. Armonk Bake Sale Raises Money For Orthopedic Hospital In Nepal
ARMONK, N.Y. -- Heavenly Productions Foundation raised $686.67 for the Orthopedic Hospital in Nepal in a bake sale on Main Street in Armonk on May 9. Combined with $314 in donations and $500 from the foundation's emergency fund, the charity will donate a total of $1,500 to the hospital. The bake sale was organized by Heavenly Productions Foundation executive board members Dr. Cathy McGovern, Dr. Kathy Reilly Fallon, Lori Rocco and Sheryl Nolletti. Author LaShonda Katrice Barnett To Visit Mount Vernon May 14
MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Author LaShonda Katrice Barnett will read from her latest novel "Jam on the Vine" Thursday at Mount Vernon Public Library. "Jam on the Vine" is the debut novel from Barnett and follows an African-American woman journalist in the South during the Jim Crow era.
