Overflow Shelter In Danbury Seeks Male Volunteers To Help Overnight DANBURY, Conn. -- With winter descending on the area, the Overflow Shelter at the First Congregational Church of Danbury is in urgent need of male volunteers at least 21 years old to stay with homeless guests from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. There will be training for new volunteers on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. in the church office, 164 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury. Upcoming dates when volunteers are needed include Dec. 9, 10, 11 and 13. Cub Scouts Donate To Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. -- Fifteen Cub Scouts from Montrose Pack 36 participated recently in a food drive to support the Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry. Eight carts of food (estimated value of $3,000) and $620 were collected over the two-day period. Tiger Cub leaders Brian and Melissa Neurauter organized the event. Also instrumental in the food drive success was Veronica Reynolds, the Croton A&P manager.
