Danbury Volunteer Firefighters Holding Fundraising Shred It Day DANBURY, Conn. -- Volunteer firefighters at Wooster Hose Company No. 5 are helping residents clean up their homes with their shredding fundraiser on Saturday, May 9. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rogers Park next to the tennis courts. The shredding will be secure and professional, done by Shred It. There is a suggested donation of $5 per box, but all donations will be accepted.

Weston Hosts Southern Time Trials For Special Olympics Athletes WESTON, Conn. -- Athletes of all abilities from across the region have an opportunity to compete in track and field, aquatics, gymnastics and tennis as Special Olympics Connecticut holds its 2015 Southern Time Trials at Weston High School and Weston Middle School. Westport Receives $1.3M FEMA Grant To Replace Saugatuck Bridge WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Town of Westport has been awarded a FEMA grant to replace the aging Saugatuck Bridge, First Selectman Jim Marpe announced.  U.S. Rep.
