Duo Left Victim With Brain Injuries After NY Motel Beating: Here's Their Fates
Two men convicted in a brutal beating at a Sullivan County motel that left a victim with a fractured face and bleeding in his brain have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms.
Richard Olsen, 40, of Liberty, was sentenced to 15 years in prison, while Jonathan Nipitella, 45, of Kiamesha Lake, received 14 years, Sullivan County District Attorney Brian P. Conaty announced on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Two Westchester County correction officers have been arrested for alleged misconduct at the county jail, prosecutors said.
Diamond Davis, 33, of Yonkers, and Kimesha Foster, 47, of Mount Vernon, were arrested on Monday, Sept. 28, at the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla by investigators from the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, DA Susan Cacace announced on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Both officers were charged with official misconduct and issued desk appearance tickets. They are scheduled to be arraigned in Mount Pleasant Justice Court on Thursday, Oct. 1.

The two Amish children were killed on their way to school when a Dodge slammed into their horse-drawn buggy in New York, authorities said.
Anna J. Hershberger, 13, and Moses J. Hershberger, 7, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash Friday, Sept. 25 in Richland, New York State Police said Monday, Sept. 28.
The two Hershberger children were among nine children inside the two destroyed buggies, investigators said. A 9-year-old girl was hospitalized in critical condition at Upstate University Hospital and was upgraded to stable by Monday, police said.
