Gallelli Overtakes Levitt In Croton Ballot Count

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – A change in unofficial election results from the Westchester County Board of Elections gives incumbent Ann Gallelli, not newcomer Andy Levitt, the second Democratic nomination for the Croton Board of Trustees.

An updated set of unofficial election results from the Board of Elections changes originally reported results for the Democratic primary, keeping Kevin Davis as the top vote-getter but giving incumbent Ann Gallelli the second available ballot spot.

According to the results, updated just before 5:40 p.m. Friday, Davis received 519 votes, or 37 percent of the ballots cast; Gallelli received 480 votes, or 34 percent; and Levitt received 419, or 30 percent.

Thursday evening's results had reported that Davis received 529 votes, Levitt 509 and Gallelli 478 as of 11 p.m.

"Well, I still don't know what happened, but the numbers they're reporting right now are the same numbers we had initially last night," Gallelli said Friday evening.

"I feel bad that there's been all this back and forth, and Andy is now the third place," she said. "He was a great running mate, and if these numbers hold we're going to miss him on the board. But I still congratulate Kevin, and if the numbers hold, for myself, I'm looking forward to continuing my presence on the board."
